Job Description

Meikleour Estate, a historic country estate near Blairgowrie, is recruiting for experienced Front of House staff. Our successful candidates will work within its award-winning boutique hotel The Meikleour Arms (AA 4 Star Gold and 1 Rosette, AA Accommodations the Year Scotland 2022). A customer-facing position, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of an established and professional team.

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated FOH servers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing top-tier service to our valued guests.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner. Present menus and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., ingredients, or potential food allergies) Take orders and serve our guests in our award-winning rosette restaurant. Provide excellent customer service and exceed guests' expectations. On some shifts you might also work behind the bar taking drink orders and managing the till and bills. Having your license is not essential but will be looked upon favourably.

Remuneration

The hourly rate is 13.50/ hour + holiday pay = 15.13/hour

You can expect around 1.50/hour expected tips so a package of up to 16.63/hour

Note about gratuities (tips):

We use an HMRC compliant tronc system which ensures all of the hotel and restaurant's tips go to all of the staff. On average, staff can expect 1.50/ hour expected tips which combined is a very attractive package!

Hours of Work

We are looking for permanent part-time or full-time candidates for immediate start.

To meet the requirements of the hotel, our candidates will be expected to work a blend of morning and evening shifts to ensure fairness within the team:

Morning shift: 7:00 am- 3pm Evening shift: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Essential Requirements

Excellent customer service skills and presentation. Minimum 1-year previous experience of FOH. Our hotel can be a dynamic working environment and requires its staff to enjoy working as part of a team.

Notes

We offer quality, shared accommodation in Meikleour if required. Relocation expenses are not included. If commuting, be aware that we are in a rural area with limited public transport. Having your own means of transport is deemed essential as buses do not run through Meikleour village regularly, and not at all for the early shifts. Unfortunately, this opportunity
