Duties

Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm. Take accurate orders and relay them efficiently to the kitchen and bar staff. Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation standards are maintained. Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns. Handle payments accurately using the POS system, including processing cash and card transactions. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas. Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities. Follow food safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of food and beverages. Assist with basic food preparation or side tasks as required by the establishment. Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods.

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for guest service is key. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques. Ability to handle multiple tables efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Good organisational skills with effective time management during busy shifts. Strong communication skills to interact confidently with guests and team members. Basic maths skills for processing payments accurately. Familiarity with food preparation or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Culinary experience or knowledge of menu items can enhance guest interactions through informed recommendations. A friendly demeanour combined with professionalism to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
