Duties

Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing detailed menu descriptions and recommendations. Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation meets company standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, side stations, and service areas throughout shifts. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety regulations. Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring guest satisfaction. Handle guest enquiries courteously, resolving any issues promptly to ensure a positive dining experience. Process payments accurately using the POS system and provide correct change or receipts. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timely delivery of orders and special requests. Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques. Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently. Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately. Familiarity with kitchen operations or culinary experience is advantageous. Effective time management to ensure prompt service during busy periods. Ability to upsell menu items tactfully to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance. Team player with excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
