Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Bar tender/server to join our small family run restaurant. As a key member of our front of house team you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Your role will involve not only serving beverages but also engaging with customers to enhance their experience and promote our offerings.

Responsibilities

Serve drinks and food items promptly and efficiently, ensuring high standards of presentation. Engage with guests, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Demonstrate knowledge of the menu to assist guests in making informed choices, including upselling specials and promotions. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. Assist in food preparation as required, ensuring all items are prepared according to safety guidelines. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic math skills for processing payments.

Requirements

Previous experience in a hospitality or a restaurant environment is preferred. Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary experience is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively. Experience in serving and up-selling products would be desirable. Knowledge or experience as a barista would be great, however training will be provided A passion for Italian food and wine would be preferred as well as some understanding of the language. This job would suit someone who is able to work within a small team as well as working independently. Must be willing to work weekends and evenings up until 11pm or as required.
