The White Lion is an original 16th-century coaching inn located in the picturesque village of Thakeham, West Sussex. We pride ourselves on providing excellent hospitality, delicious local pub food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. With seating for 43 guests, a cosy bar area, and a beautiful south-facing beer garden, The White Lion offers a relaxed environment for customers.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team at The White Lion. Responsibilities

- Greeting and welcoming customers into the pub
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and conversational manner
- Serving customers in the restaurant
- Taking food and drink orders from customers
- Delivering food and drink to customers at their tables
- Handling payments from customers
- Cleaning the restaurant before opening
- Helping on the bar as needed
- Setting up garden areas during the summer months
- Helping bring in logs & looking after fires during the winter months
- Communicating any issues that arise with tables to management
- Checking customer toilets
- Setting up and laying out the restaurant
- Ensuring the restaurant is clean and tidy
- Being knowledgeable about menu items
- Upselling menu items
- Following instructions from the floor manager and working as part of a team

Ideal Candidate

- Pleasant and talkative with strong interpersonal skills
- Enjoys greeting and interacting with customers
- Some experience working in a pub/restaurant environment
- Able to identify customer needs and handle issues efficiently
- Must be available on weekends (Friday Evening, Saturday Day, Saturday Night, Sunday Day) (Part-time)
- Either has a driving license or a reliable way to get back and forth to work
- Perfect job to fit around school or higher education (Part-time)
