Job Description

We are looking for a hard working and enthusiastic individual to join the Flamingo family. Great customer service skills are a must and previous experience in a busy, fast- paced restaurant /cafe is preferred including barista style coffee making skills. Hours will be over 7 days a week between the hours of 8am-5pm and possibly the occasional Friday or Saturday evening. Must be flexible. Please note this is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and manage reservations efficiently to optimise seating arrangements Take accurate orders and serve food and beverages in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of presentation and service Provide attentive guest services, addressing any special requests or dietary requirements with professionalism Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times, including proper handling and storage of food items Assist with basic food preparation when required, supporting the kitchen team during busy periods Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations Manage cash transactions accurately using POS systems and handle payments efficiently Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during shifts and uphold a welcoming atmosphere

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates Knowledge of food safety regulations and basic food preparation skills are advantageous Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour to ensure positive guest interactions Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Experience in guest services, serving, or culinary roles will be considered a plus Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
