Duties

Greet customers warmly and guide them through the menu, explaining dishes and making recommendations based on customer preferences. Take orders accurately and relay them promptly to the kitchen staff, ensuring seamless service. Serve food and beverages with professionalism, ensuring orders are delivered correctly and in a timely manner. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve any issues to ensure a positive dining experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including setting tables, refilling water, and clearing dishes. Process payments efficiently and accurately, handling cash and card transactions securely. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to coordinate smooth operations during busy service periods. Stay informed about the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, to assist customers effectively. Uphold high standards of personal hygiene and presentation to represent the restaurant professionally.
Experience

Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a restaurant setting, is an advantage but not required. Knowledge or interest in South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine is a plus, with the willingness to learn and share this knowledge with guests. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers. A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to handle fast-paced service periods efficiently. Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in orders and an exceptional dining experience for every guest. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues during busy shifts.
