About us

Maxwell's is a small tearoom in Duns, in the Scottish Broders. We aim to be professional, the job is fast-paced and very rewarding. We have lots of lovely locals so we are very customer focused. We aim to give everyone an extremely warm welcome and make them feel comfortable. We champion traditional British baking as well as seasonal produce.

Duties:
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and efficient manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately and promptly
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service and address any guest concerns or special requests
- Upsell menu items and promote daily specials
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate order preparation and timely delivery
- Assist with food preparation and plating as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide a positive dining experience for guests
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet service standards
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests, coworkers, and management

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.80 per hour
