Job Description

We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused

Customer Service Advisor

to join our busy garage. You will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing outstanding service from initial enquiry through to job completion. This role involves managing bookings, communicating with workshop staff, handling service and repair authorisations, and ensuring an efficient flow of work through the garage.

Key Responsibilities:



Answer incoming phone calls and greet customers professionally, providing a welcoming and helpful service. Take accurate details from customers and make service, MOT, and repair bookings using the garage management system. Build and maintain detailed job cards for workshop staff, ensuring accurate customer and vehicle information. Relay updates and technical information from mechanics to customers in an easy-to-understand manner. Work closely with vehicle estimators to discuss repair pricing, obtain customer authorisations, and coordinate repair bookings. Advise customers on repair/service prices, expected timeframes, and next steps clearly and professionally. Actively follow up on deferred work and send service and MOT reminders. Call customers to book in outstanding or upcoming service, MOT, and repair work. Manage service and warranty repairs for vehicles sold by the sales department, liaising between sales, service, and workshop teams. Communicate repair costs to the sales team and obtain necessary approvals. Ensure sales vehicles are prepped and processed through the workshop in line with agreed delivery schedules. Oversee the workflow within the workshop to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction. Coordinate parts ordering, manage returns, and track parts availability to avoid delays. Liaise with fleet customers to manage bookings, pricing, and delivery expectations. Handle account customers and manage sales ledger queries and payments. Promote a culture of quality service and effective communication within the team. Book MOT appointments and arrange drivers for customer vehicle collections or deliveries where needed.

Skills and Experience Required:



Previous experience in a customer service advisor role within an automotive, garage, or dealership environment. Strong understanding of vehicle servicing, repairs, and MOT processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical customers. Good organisational and time management skills. Confident working with booking and garage management systems. Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a positive, proactive attitude. Experience working with fleet and warranty customers (desirable).
