We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Service Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team at the brand-new Cradley Heath Skills Campus, part of the Sandwell College Group.



This is a permanent, part-time position, working 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm) during term time only (36 weeks per year). The role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about providing great food and excellent service within a modern, welcoming environment.



You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our on-site catering facilities, ensuring staff, students and visitors enjoy high-quality food and outstanding service at our exciting new campus.#

Key Responsibilities





Assist with the preparation and service of food and refreshments. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas. Support the Chef Manager and team in setting up and closing down service areas. Operate tills and handle payments in line with College procedures. Ensure all food hygiene, health and safety regulations are followed at all times. Provide a friendly, efficient and professional service to students, staff and visitors. Support occasional College hospitality events as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:Experience working in a catering or hospitality environment. A good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work well as part of a team in a busy environment. A positive attitude and willingness to learn. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above). A catering qualification or experience working within an educational setting.
