The purpose of the role is to be responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the engineering workshop. This encompasses health and safety, cost control, engineering standards, efficient operating practices, engineering staff management, management of workflow and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks and Deliverables:
Manage employees to organise and control workload and requirements.
Check that the paperwork produced for each job including time sheets and job cards are correctly completed.
Responsible for the safe operation of the workshop.
Responsible for ensuring the workflow and timely delivery of the workshop output.
Assist in the development of new services and initiatives.
Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
To assist in the development and or organising training of others.
Compliance with both Rubix and customer Health & Safety requirements.
Ensure that housekeeping of the workshop or facilities are maintained to the required standards.
Responsible that all quotes are sent to the required standard with all relevant information and completed in the required time based on urgency.
Responsible for maintaining order book and forecasting figures on a weekly basis to Engineering Director.
Able to use our IT systems - K8, CRM etc.
Visit customers sites to promote our services and grow our sales.
Assist and carry out disciplinary action.
Able to prioritise workload.

Key Skills / Qualifications
Previous experience of working in an engineering environment
Experienced mechanical or Electrical Engineer
Strong communication skills
Analytical thinker
Computer literate with office programs (Word/Excel etc)
Must be a self-starter who can work under their own initiative.
The ability to multitask and work under pressure.
