About the Role:
Are you an experienced service charge professional looking to step into a senior role? We're looking for a Service Charge Senior to join our growing team in Altrincham. You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of service charge accounts. This role involves client liaison, supporting junior team members, and playing a key part in delivering excellent service to our property sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and reviewing year-end service charge accounts for residential and commercial properties.
Reconciling income and expenditure, including accruals and prepayments.
Managing a portfolio of properties and serving as the primary point of contact for clients and property managers.
Liaising with external stakeholders to resolve complex queries and ensure compliance with current legislation.
Supporting junior team members with technical guidance and review of work.
Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and audit queries, where required.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of service charge best practices and RICS guidelines.
Key Requirements:
We are looking for a technically strong, client-focused professional who is confident working independently. Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience in service charge accounting (residential, commercial, or mixed).
AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE); ACCA/ACA part-qualified desirable but not essential.
Strong understanding of service charge legislation and leaseholder requirements.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with property management systems (e.g., Qube, MRI, Yardi).
