Role Purpose:




An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Service Coordinator to join the children and young peoples (CYP) team at BDC Mind. The post will play a key role in developing and delivering our CYP services, with a focus on Know Your Mind and Hospital Buddies.
As Service Coordinator, you will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure these services are safe, effective, and of the highest quality. You will support the delivery of impactful programmes, maintain high standards of safety and compliance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of services that empower and support CYP and their families across our Bradford District and Craven.

offers mental health and wellbeing support to CYP aged 5-19 and up to 25 with additional needs in BD1 to BD9 and Keighley Central.

Hospital Buddies

offer mental health and wellbeing support to CYP that have been admitted to the paediatric ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale General hospital, aged 5-19.

Key duties



+ To support the Service Manager to develop and maintain our CYP services, ensuring standard operating processes are in place and followed consistently + To manage referrals and caseload allocation
+ Oversee safeguarding, incidents and concerns/disclosures captured by the teams, ensuring a timely and appropriate response and attending relevant multi agency meetings, as required
+ To contribute to the development and delivery of mental health awareness workshops to CYP workforce
+ Manage staff rotas across services and ensure availability meets service needs
+ Guide and support the team with day-to-day issues and challenges, providing support and guidance
+ To ensure that accurate and timely data, including case studies, is gathered, collated and reported to the Service Manager as required
+ Support the Service Manager with recruitment, development and retention of staff
+ To develop and maintain links with colleagues, system partners, local community groups and other stakeholders
+ To deputise for the Service Manager, as appropriate

General duties



+ Support the on-call rota to ensure all practitioners have access to support and advice out of hours + To consistently uphold the standards within the BDC Mind service member agreement and ensure that it is always adhered to by staff, volunteers and service members
+ To actively support and promote all aspects of the service and enhance the public image of BDC Mind
+ To take responsibility, with colleagues, for ensuring that all Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Information Governance and Equality & Diversity requirements are met, and Company policies complied with
+ Undertake any other reasonable duties or tasks deemed necessary by the Leadership Team

Person Specification



Qualification and Knowledge



+ At least 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade A-C (or equivalent) to include English, Maths and IT + - Understanding of key current issues within childrens mental health
+ Understanding of best practice for people management

Experience



+ Working in a team that have dealt with complex and sensitive issues + - Management of risk and safeguarding issues and procedures
+ - Experience gathering data and writing reports
+ - Building and maintain relationships at all levels
+ - Working in the voluntary sector
+ Experience of managing and supporting a team

Skills and abilities



+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills + - Wide range of IT skills and computer literacy
+ - Excellent planning and organisation skills
+ - Ability to make decisions and act on own initiative
+ - Ability to work with complex issues and manage a demanding workload
+ - Ability to work as part of a team and independently
+ - Keen attention to detail
+ Ability to develop and maintain administrative systems, including staff rotas
