Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Coordinator in Dermatology, Diabetes and Endocrinology.
The post holder will be responsible for liaising closely with the service manager, assistant service managers, lead clinician and clinical teams to arrange additional clinics as well as ensuring all activity is cancelled for leave, rest days etc.
This post requires a strong eye for detail, RTT knowledge, experience of management outpatient and minor procedure waiting lists and to be confident in the use of IT systems. The post is based at St Helier Hospital with visits to Epsom Hospital as required.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with administrative staff and clinicians in order to achieve optimal decisions for overall patient care.
Maintaining the rosters for all clinical staff, liaising closely with the service manager, lead clinician, nursing team and theatres to arrange additional clinics and theatre lists; as well as ensuring all activity is cancelled for leave, rest days etc.
Monitoring clinic utilisation.
Ensuring that the decisions taken are fully informed and properly balanced, taking account of collective as well as individual need, and the requirement to live within available resources.
Genuinely promoting and supporting the delivery of national and local healthcare targets as one of the ways of raising healthcare standards for all.
