Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in office.

About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service lead role within our Colleague Channels Platform. You\'ll be responsible for leading a team of 30 permanent and partner engineers to provide 24/7 run leadership for critical services that support our branches. The Role will focus on delivering service to SLAs, incidents & risk leadership, continuous improvement, and migration of platforms to cloud (along with new operating model).

They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high-quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended.

They will be an advocate for Engineering, providing a voice to engineers within the teams, identifying and supporting their teams in resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing themselves with industry best practice and tooling used across their engineering team.

This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise within a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a "player-coach" model.

Develops and/or delivers budget plans for own area with guidance from senior colleagues.

Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organisation\'s change management programme with guidance from senior colleagues.

Leads the development and/or operation of knowledge management system with guidance from senior colleagues.

Develops and/or delivers a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.

Leads a significant portion of the organisation\'s risk management and/or control process, contributing to the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.

Identifies and evaluates complex expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.

Develops tactical plans for optimisation of resources and assets being managed within a given area or department.

What you\'ll need

Experienced in IT Service Management, Service Engineering and Release Management

Are able to demonstrate mentoring, people leadership or management experience

You\'ll be comfortable working with stakeholders.

Can bring Strategic Thinking - ability to provide holistic view of system architecture and raise considerations / risks at the design stage

Understanding of current IT security processes, systems, and procedures.

Eager to support the wider team with involvement in Operational Service and formulating and delivering service improvements.
