Job Description

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for providing safe, efficient and effective support to the Production environment to ensure the timely flow of raw materials, semi-finished and finished parts through all stages of the production processes, so that parts can be delivered to the Despatch are within the required timescales.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:



oUndertake the daily safety checks of the Forklift Trucks in line with safety requirements.

oEnsure Production personnel have the required materials, packaging and storage resources in a timely manner.

oStoring/removing goods/tooling from the designated storage locations as specified.

oTransporting goods internally within the site to supply production with, and dispose of, raw materials; semi-finished and finished products; empties and packaging material as specified by the CU/BU and plant.

oDeliver all finished parts and pallets to Despatch within the required timescale.

oCarry out special transport tasks within the Company using the Forklift Trucks (e.g. tools).

oProvide support to Senior Setters, Setter Operators and Engineering personnel to ensure that machines can be set up and that changeovers are completed in a safe, efficient and effective manner.ooEnsure all "Now & Next" Boards and Racks are up to date.

oCorrectly disposing of all scrap in line with the environmental guidelines.

oEnsure any goods moved have clear identification.

oInform your Line Manager in the event of any errors or unclear process steps.

oActively participating in providing continuous improvement.

oUndertake and maintain a high level of housekeeping duties and 5s (to ensure Production environment remains clean and uncluttered, including the emptying of waste material bins, sweeping up, etc.)

oUndertake and maintain a high level of housekeeping and 5s within the outside areas (i.e. yard, skips, etc.).

oSupport the Company with any other relevant duties as and when required.

oAlways adhere to all Company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety procedures to ensure that you are working in a safe manner.

Your Credentials:



oPrevious experience in similar role within a high-volume manufacturing/warehouse environment.

oBe able to drive a range of Forklift Trucks (including 8ton Counterbalance), as well as motorised Pedestrian Trucks.

oHave a good level of Numeracy & Literature (minimum equivalent to Level 1 Functional Skills).

oIdeally hold a relevant Level 2 NVQ qualification (e.g. Distribution & Warehousing, Performing Manufacturing Engineering Operations, etc.).

oHave a good level of communication and be able to work under pressure.

oFlexibility to work shift patterns and overtime as and when required.

Additional Information:



oFull time position Monday-Friday

o37 hrs per week.

oShift Working will be required.

oBe flexible to work overtime (if and when required).

oStarting rate for applicants will be 13.74 per hour. Upon the successful completion of a training/probationary period this rate will be reviewed.
