The overall purpose of this post is work as part of Action Mental Health's counselling management team leading the delivery of counselling/therapies for children and young people within community and school settings. The post holder will lead and manage a team of counsellors and therapists to ensure a safe and confidential service is provided and contractual commitments are met.
You will have (essential):
Diploma, Degree or Masters, or equivalent counselling or psychotherapy qualification as regulated by the RQF or SCQF and from a recognised or a relevant validating organisation e.g. Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB)
Accredited member with BACP, UKCP, IACP, NCPS, BAT, AFT or equivalent
RQF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or willing to undertake
A minimum of 100 hours post qualification, clinically supervised practice in counselling children and young people up to age of 18
OR
a minimum of 100 hours post qualification experience of working with adults and have successfully completed the Level 5 CPCAP Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People
Relevant supervisory or management experience in a clinical setting
Experience in using clinical assessment tools and client databases
Knowledge of the strategic issues affecting mental health services in the community and voluntary sector
A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle which will meet the needs of the role (consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence)
