Role overview
We are looking for a Service Manager to join our clinic in Manchester. This will be 40 hours over 5 days per week including cover on weekends on a rota basis.
The Service Manager is an essential role within the service leadership team, reporting to the Operational Director. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational delivery of high-quality ophthalmology services at the site.
You'll be leading on service improvement -and it's a varied role - you'll be setting and monitoring utilisation and capacity targets, managing the patient feedback process, working towards KPI's, liaising with contacts across the Support Office teams and with external suppliers and managing your team, amongst a myriad of other tasks that make up a working day in a busy clinical service.
What skills and experience do I need?
We're looking for someone with previous operational management experience, ideally gained in a healthcare setting - NHS or independent provider. You'll have a sound commercial acumen, working closely with the Operational Director to identify new service opportunities.
You'll have managed a team and will be well versed in leading and engaging your people, inspiring them along the journey with you.
You'll have demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced and target driven environment and ideally, will have experience of working in a regulated sector and understand broad governance requirements. It would be advantageous of you have working knowledge of CQC requirements.
You'll possess great stakeholder management skills, and you'll have the ability to flex your communication style to suit different audiences - from patients to your team and from Clinical Directors to external organisations.
You'll be an ace at time management and will be able to juggle priorities - we work in a fast-paced environment, and things can change throughout the day, so you'll be able to react in the moment and make the sound business decisions.
And you'll be tech savvy - comfortable with working on a variety of IT systems and able to pick up new systems and programmes confidently and with ease.
In summary we're looking for a well-rounded operational manager - happy and able to turn your hand to a wide array of tasks every day!
