We are seeking a

Service Manager (12-Month Maternity Cover)

to lead our Norwich service team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to guide a talented group of technicians who deliver exceptional service to our customers daily. As maternity cover, you will ensure continuity, stability, and excellence within the department while upholding the values and customer-first ethos that define Ben Burgess.

Your responsibilities as Service Manager will include:

Leading, mentoring, and empowering the service department, nurturing a culture of excellence and development. Building strong customer relationships through professional, empathetic, and solutions-focused interactions. Overseeing planning, administration, and business development to drive productivity and profitability. Managing resources effectively - from people to budgets - to achieve departmental efficiency. Ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction remain at the heart of service operations. Collaborating with colleagues across the business to support wider company initiatives. Monitoring and improving departmental performance to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes. Using technology and systems to streamline communication and operational processes.

We value candidates who possess:

Proven leadership and excellent communication skills. A passion for engineering and a commitment to building strong, motivated teams. Experience in roles such as Agricultural Service Manager, Workshop Manager, Aftermarket Manager, or Workshop Controller in industries like Automotive, HGV, Plant, or other machinery/engineering-based fields. Commercial awareness and the ability to run a profitable service department. Strong problem-solving skills and resilience in the face of challenges.
