Job Description

We're looking for a Service & Workshop Manager to join our Salisbury branch - a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Service Manager who still likes to keep a hand on the tools, or an Engineer who's ready to take that next step into management. This is an exciting time for us as we're about to move to a new branch in the area that provides the opportunity for business growth.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 4pm. A company vehicle will also be provided.

What You'll Be Doing



As Service & Workshop Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our plant and groundcare workshop running smoothly. You'll manage a small team of 2-3 engineers, support their training and development, and help create a motivated, skilled and safe working environment.

Your time will be split roughly 70% office-based and 30% workshop, giving you the chance to stay close to the tools while also driving performance.

Key responsibilities include:

Working with our team to guide jobs from initial call to final invoice. Managing customer enquiries and expectations with confidence and clarity. Prioritising workload and ensuring the workshop hits its monthly financial targets. Overseeing warranty accounts and ensuring accurate processes are followed. Maintaining strong communication between the workshop, parts and sales teams. Leading regular catch-ups, promoting high standards of housekeeping and compliance. Supporting the growth and development of your engineering team. Completing a variety for servicing, repairs and PDI work on smaller plant machinery.
Full product and manufacturer training will be provided, so you'll be well supported as you step into the role. You'll also receive mentoring from one of our most experienced Managers.

What We're Looking For



Outstanding administration and communication skills. A sound working knowledge of machinery. The ability to juggle multiple jobs while staying calm under pressure. Comfortable with IT systems and open to learning new ones. Great attention to detail and the confidence to use your initiative. Experience in a similar role orengineering experience with the ambition to step up. Background in Construction or Commercial machinery is important.
