About the role....





Catering Services are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the schools catering provision.



As part of this role, you will be required to implement and support all new projects and service improvements. You will have extensive experience in catering, budget monitoring and staff management along with good knowledge of relevant legislation and the practices and procedures associated with working in a kitchen environment.



Expected hours of working are 7.30am to 3.00pm but you will need to be flexible should the situation and demand change. Some overtime for evening work may be necessary.



Key Responsibilities





To work with the school in relation to its actions to promote healthy eating and wellbeing amongst pupils. Paying particular emphasis to healthy eating as part of a whole school approach to health and wellbeing. To undertake management responsibility for all catering outlets on site. Identify and address any underperformances, poor practices and complaints. Maintain a consistent high standard of service in all catering outlets. To work alongside the Head Chef/Cook and Coffee Shop Supervisor in a practical "hands on" role. To ensure that financial objectives are checked and monitored within all catering outlets. To maximise meal numbers by encouraging customers to use the service. To assist the Principal Officer with budget forecasts and financial reports. To manage staff hours and productivity levels, review and monitor staff performance and provide development opportunities. Interview, select and train staff. To manage and control sickness, and be responsible for staff cover and rotas/work schedules etc. Responsible for ensuring and maintaining cleanliness and high standards of hygiene in all catering outlets. To comply with the Council's requirement and responsibilities relating to all Food, Health and Safety. To arrange monthly team meetings and attend cluster meetings as and when required. To participate in and/or assist with menu planning as required. To work with the Management Team and school regarding any services changes and implement improvements. To liaise, communicate and assist the Principal Officer/customers and staff in a pleasant and professional manner. Responsible for the securing and opening of all catering outlets, stores and building as and when required.
