Technology Services:

The Technology Services department is responsible for providing world-class support and services to our global business. Within Technology Services, the IT Service Management team operates all IT services and infrastructure for the firm.

What You Will Do:

As a Service Automation & Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in transforming how our IT services are operated, monitored, provisioned, and tested. Collaborating with a team of software engineers, you will utilize software engineering principles to automate processes, enabling our IT support teams worldwide to deliver exceptional support to our business. Your responsibilities will include identifying business processes that can benefit from automation, participating in solution design, documentation, and delivery. Reporting to the Service Automation & Operations Manager, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing IT services.

In this role, you will streamline IT services through automation, seamlessly integrating with the IT Service Management (ITSM) platform. This includes automating service provisioning, such as one-touch/self-service requests for business users and automated user administration for moves, additions, and changes.

Additionally, you will focus on delivering solutions in adherence to established guidelines, ensuring compliance with rigorous deployment, testing, and documentation standards defined by Technology Services. With an innovative approach, you will construct novel services and workflows within ITSM systems, leveraging automation to optimize processes and harness the latest technological advancements.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to develop visually captivating data visualizations and impactful graphical dashboards for business intelligence purposes. By presenting information in a visually compelling manner, you will empower stakeholders to gain valuable insights at a glance, enabling well-informed, data-driven decisions.

What You Will Need: We are seeking someone with the following areas of knowledge:

  • Knowledge and practical experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of IT applications, services, and infrastructure, with specific skills in:
  • Frontend and backend development experience, such as node, JavaScript, .NET, PHP, Blazor, or similar.
  • Windows and Unix-based operating systems.
  • Infrastructure monitoring and analytics, e.g., Elastic Stack (preferred), Splunk.
  • Cloud infrastructures, with preference for experience with Azure.
  • Microsoft SQL Server and a solid understanding of other data platforms (e.g., MongoDB, ELK).
  • Web service architectures (e.g., GraphQL, REST).
  • Azure tools experience, such as Azure pipelines, Event hubs, Functions, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft and Linux server platforms.
  • Experience integrating with ITSM platforms for automation, orchestration, and provisioning pipelines.
  • Good knowledge of secure software development practices and where to find guidance and best practices.
  • Good knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
Additionally, we are also seeking the following experience:
  • Working within Agile teams and fostering a DevOps culture.
  • Experience in IT service and operations, providing software solutions for these functions.
  • Experience in designing and implementing applications for web, windows, mobile platforms, and data integration solutions, such as SOAP and RESTful web services.
  • Ability to create comprehensive technical documents, including support transition guides, operational manuals, infrastructure diagrams, and project-specific documentation.
  • Ability to provide accurate estimations using story sizing.
  • Experience working in a global environment across international locations, with an appreciation for multiple cultures.
  • Experience with administration and workflow automation in ITSM tools, such as BMC Helix, ServiceNow, etc.
