Job Description

Northern Industrial Battery Services Ltd are hiring a Service Supervisor. Based at Four Crosses Business Park, Four Crosses, SY22 6ST. This is a full time (Monday-Friday) 8:30am-4:30pm position.

The role is to ensure the efficient functioning of the service department whilst maintaining high levels of customer service. Supervising the service team to ensure we have a motivated, appropriately qualified team to meet changing customer requirements.

Main Duties:



Service Team:



Undertake all the duties required by the position to lead the team of service engineers, briefly:

1.Be the first point of contact for service engineers; providing logistical, operational and welfare support.

2.Promote and maintain the TEAM atmosphere of the engineers.

3.Be an active member of the service team, inclusive of onsite working as and when required.

4.Undertake regular individual appraisals and team meetings, these are to be documented, and personnel files maintained.

5.Maintain the training and development of the service team including ongoing monitoring of SQEP.

6.Maintain discipline and undertake disciplinary action, if required, in the service department.

Service Department:



Undertake all the duties required by the position to ensure a high level of service to the customer, briefly:

1.First point of contact for out of hours support to engineers and customers (Email, Phone etc.).

2.Provide labour plans/timeframes to Office Manager for all service work quotations.

3.Provide support to Planning Co-ordinator in relation to equipment/kit requirements, testing plans and engineer allocation for service work. Reviewing jobs ahead of time and ensuring adequate information regarding job is given to the engineers.

4.Create and provide all technical documentation as and when required this may include, but not be limited to, Risk Assessments, Method Statements / Safe Systems of Work, Quality Plans, Site Project Files and Engineer Handbooks.

5.Support Office Administrator in reviewing reports (post install, discharge testing etc.).

6.Responsibility for the workshop area housekeeping and equipment allocation (including supporting engineers with selection of equipment).

7.Co-ordinate holiday, weekend cover and Sunday travel between all engineers in the service department.

8.Maintain the communication levels between the service and sales functions (e.g. additional service offerings and visits etc.).

9.Maintain the communication levels between the engineers and the service functions (e.g. alterations of site information onto SIR's etc.).

Vehicle Fleet:



In conjunction with the Engineering Manager:

1. Continuously review the present company vehicle fleet with a view to suitability, economics and availability.

Management Meetings:



1.Submit detailed reports to the Engineering Manager prior to management meetings, concerning relevant functions of the service department.
