Field Service Engineer

Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge with a leading global company who are industry experts within the surface solutions industry. Oerlikon has an exciting opportunity for a talented Field Service Engineer to join their team within the UK.

As a Field Services Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of our coating systems and peripheral equipment (industrial robots) at our national and international customers. You will be involved with training our customers on our equipment. The role is primarily based near our customer facilities in and around the Nottingham/Derby area.

Your Responsibilities

Field Service activities

• Conduct Field Service Activities
• Install OM products
• Issue customer-layouts
• Carry out Equipment and operator training
• Complete system and component repairs
• Prepare and manage service projects.
• Prepare technical training

Technical Support

• Provide support to our customers via phone
• Offer internal customer support related to technical issues
• Inform our customers with regard to security issues in writing in the service reports (porosity hoses, gas leak detector function etc.)

Miscellaneous

• Support with the training of new service technicians
• Carry out repairs of system-components internally
• Take responsibility for the shipped spare parts during a service intervention

Your Profile

• Ability to carry out Electro-technical training
• Knowledge of PLC technology
• Understanding of pneumatics
• Knowledge of mechanics
• Familiarity with robotics
• Expert knowledge of processes and capabilities
• Technological problem-solver
• Ability to operate at all levels, internally and externally
• Willingness to travel to customer facilities
