SERVICES CONSULTANT




This document provides standard description of a Pirean job role. It describes the skill set and responsibilities expected in fulfilling the role. Job Overview:



A Professional Services Consultant advises clients on how to best use IT security products when attempting to meet their business objectives or overcome problems and delivers solutions to meet these objectives.



The Professional Services Consultant may deal with one specialist subject area or can be wide ranging and address strategic business issues. The individual will be expected to not only provide advice, but will be expected to deliver the development, testing, and deployment for the customer project.



The Professional Services Consultant will work with Principal and Senior Consultants to understand client requirements, collect data, and deliver analysis and problem resolution. The individual collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. They seek to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly developed, verified, documented, and delivered. Consultants are expected to work closely with other members of the team on customer engagements.



The Professional Services Consultant is expected to work as a member of the larger team, performing a number of different roles under the senior team members performing technical support, incident management investigation and resolution, small change, including defect fixes, upgrades, applying patches, and system monitoring. Also required to work in the support of solutions across one or more of the following: Access Management, Identity Management, Federated Identity Management, Directory Integration and Identity as a Service.

As a Consultant, your responsibilities will vary depending on the specific project, but will typically include:


Designing, developing, testing, installing, and monitoring new IT systems and solutions. Collaborating with Principal and Senior Consultants to gather requirements and define project scope. Interpreting client system specifications and gaining a deep understanding of their business operations and practices. Delivering solutions through clear written documentation and oral presentations. Specifying software, hardware, and network requirements. Ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met. Supporting clients through change management processes. Engaging with stakeholders at all levels within client organisations. Preparing comprehensive documentation and delivering progress updates to clients. Coordinating and delivering training sessions for end users and internal teams. Identifying potential clients and building and maintaining contacts Participating in pre-sales activities and providing ongoing client support where required.

Technical Skills & Experience





We are looking for candidate with a combination of the following technical skills and experience:


Operating Systems & Scripting:




Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments, including Shell scripting and JavaScript. Experience with Windows environments and PowerShell scripting.

Core Knowledge Areas:




Access Management solutions (e.g. IBM Security Verify Access). Identity Governance and Administration tools (e.g. IBM Security Verify Governance).

Preferred Qualifications:



You are exactly who we are looking for if you:


Familiarity with Federated SSO technologies such as SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth, and SCIM. Understanding of RDBMS, LDAP, HTTP Server, and Application Server concepts. Knowledge of system integration methods including Web Services and APIs. Experience with enterprise systems such as Microsoft Azure AD. Awareness of infrastructure design principles. University honours degree*
Relevant technical certifications*
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CISSP, etc).*
