About the Role
West Ham United Foundation is looking for passionate and dedicated
Sessional Coaches
to join our
Premier League Kicks
programme.
This initiative uses the power of football and sport to engage young people aged 8-18, providing them with access to regular football and multi-sport sessions, volunteering, workshop, mentoring, educational and employment pathways in addition to increasing playing, officiating, and coaching opportunities. The programme focuses on supporting young people from underrepresented or vulnerable backgrounds -- including those at risk of antisocial behaviour, youth violence, or social exclusion -- to build confidence, resilience, and positive futures.

, you will help inspire and empower young people across East London and Essex to make positive choices, develop new skills, and feel part of their community.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver fun, safe, and inclusive football and multi-sport activities for young people of all abilities. Embedding informal learning throughout for all participants including, targeted work with young people with disabilities and girls and young women.
Create positive, welcoming environments where participants feel valued and supported.
Build trusting relationships and act as a role model for young people.
Support those at risk of antisocial behaviour, social exclusion, or poor mental health, helping them develop confidence and emotional regulation.
Ensure all sessions meet safeguarding, health and safety, and equality standards.
Complete relevant monitoring, including attendance registers and feedback forms.
Promote the Foundation's core values of Integrity, Inclusion, Collaboration, Continuous Improvement, and Inspiration.
About You
You'll be an energetic and motivated coach who's passionate about making a difference in young people's lives. You'll have experience working with young people facing complex needs or challenges. You'll understand how to engage and connect with diverse groups and have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
Essential Requirements:
FA Level 1 or 2 in Football Coaching
FA Emergency First Aid Certificate
FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
Experience working with young people in group settings
Desirable:
FA Youth Module 1 & 2
Additional sporting, youth work, or mentoring qualifications
Experience working with mixed-ability groups or young people with disabilities
Experience imbedding informal learning within delivery

Successful candidates must undergo essential background checks before starting their employment, which may include screening of social media. The type of DBS check required will depend on the responsibilities of the position and may be basic, standard, or enhanced.
The successful candidate agrees to proactively identify and respond appropriately to any concerns, and follow the Club's Safeguarding reporting procedures to report allegations of abuse, poor practice, or anything that may impact the welfare of a child, young person, or adult at risk without delay, within 24 hours, or as otherwise directed by the Club's or the West Ham Foundation Safeguarding Team.
