Green Skills and Volunteering Tutor - Adult Education

REPORTS TO:

Lifelong Learning Co-ordinator

LOCATION:

Groundwork Learning Centre, Morley, Leeds

HOURS OF WORK:

4 hours per week (currently on Mondays, term-time only), plus termly team meeting

SALARY BAND:

25 per hour

Purpose of Job

Are you passionate about the environment and empowering adults to develop their skills and volunteering? We are looking to recruit an exceptional

Green Skills and Volunteering Tutor

to work with our adult education team in Morley from September 2025. This role will involve the delivery of courses focused on practical green skills, environmental awareness, and the benefits of volunteering.

Alongside delivering engaging sessions for adults in a range of on-site and off-site learning environments, the role will require session planning, assessment and evaluation, ensuring compliance with all Groundwork policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To deliver non-accredited adult education courses related to

green skills, horticulture, environmental awareness and the benefits of volunteering,

as well as a package of other soft skills courses to develop learner's personal social development. To deliver engaging

volunteering sessions

that will introduce learners to the benefits of environmental volunteering, community action, and prepare them to participate in real-world green projects. To support learners in the creation of portfolios of work, working closely with other delivery staff to manage and integrate the gathering of evidence. Create schemes of work and lesson plans and perform risk assessments where necessary for all learning sessions delivered. Share expertise and skills with other Groundwork tutors to enhance delivery and help develop programmes. Monitor and review learner progress, ensuring monitoring systems are accurately capturing data, providing advice and support throughout the learners' agreed programme. Ensure all teaching within the vocational curriculum is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget providing progress reports to the Lifelong Learning Co-ordinator.
