We are looking for casual staff to undertake specific pieces of work with children, carers, and families on a sessional basis.
The sessional workers receive requests for a variety of work, ranging from low level support to intensive intervention during the day and overnight. These interventions may take place in the community, in family homes or at a specific venue supporting young people experiencing placement breakdown.
About the role:
You do not need a professional qualification for this work, but you must have experience of working with children and/or families and be able to demonstrate a genuine care and commitment to supporting them. You will work with varying levels of risk and be able to manage challenging situations when lone working in the community. You will need to be able to evidence your experience of working with children with a wide range of needs, ages and adapt your approaches accordingly.
Hours are flexible, to fit in with your personal and other work commitments, however preference will be given to people available for am/pm school transport, unsociable hours working and 24/7 support work as part of an experienced team. On occasions there may be requests for work at short notice at the times you can offer availability.
While the post is 0 hours, we do require people that will be able to be committed to undertaking some work at the times you have indicated you would be available.
In return you will have responsive manager access and support, group supervision and some training will be provided around specific piece of work to assist you.
