The role

As a Setting Supervisor, your work matters to millions. Collaborating with various teams, you ensure the smooth running of setting, striking, and re-setting of scenery, while prioritising safety and studio cleanliness. You should exhibit a calm and controlled approach when working with various production staff and offer creative and practical solutions whilst under pressure. Skills you\xe2\x80\x99ll need (minimum criteria)

Highly experienced stagehand with a proven track record of working in a TV Drama/Film or Theatre Design/Props environment, preferably with studio experience - minimum 1-2 years cumulative industry experience.

A good understanding of continuity and its importance across multiple blocks.

Can complete all aspects of scenery assembly, confidently and safely, whilst leading other members of the props team.

Basic maintenance skills to ensure sets are well-maintained, including knowledge of materials,basic tools, and DIY techniques for repairs and upkeep.

Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures related to set construction and maintenance, with a focus on creating a safe working environment for the production team.

Must have experience of, and are happy to lift and carry scenery and equipment , on a daily basis , which may be heavy and/or awkward in size or shape.

Preferably hold a full, manual driving licence or be working towards it (or equivalent arrangements as part of a reasonable adjustment where a disability has been disclosed).

Experience or ability to work at height.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, camera plans, and other technical documents related to set design and construction.

A solid understanding of the setting, striking, and re-setting processes of scenery and furniture in a studio and on a lot, including knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

Ability to adapt to changing production requirements and schedules, including the willingness to occasionally provide cover for the props team or assist with other related tasks as needed.

Other things we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for (key criteria)

Experience in a similar role within the film or television industry, including knowledge of set operations, coordination, and familiarity with industry standards and set etiquette.

An interest and understanding in Set Dressing, Props and scenery assembly.

Good communication and teamwork skills- able to communicate effectively with different departments and cast.

Good organisational skills

Knowledge of Health and Safety (in relation to this job and to production).

A creative and practical approach to finding solutions to problems, in high-pressure situations, while maintaining a calm and controlled demeanour.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

IT literate and preferably proficient in Google Drive- training will be given.
