About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Sewing Machinists to join a busy furniture manufacturing team in Plymouth. You will be working with

tough upholstery fabrics and stretch materials

to produce high-quality furniture components.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating heavy-duty industrial sewing machines (flat-bed, twin-needle, overlock, walking foot) Sewing leather, vinyl, canvas, and other durable upholstery fabrics Sewing stretch fabrics and elastics for fitted covers and cushions Following patterns and production specifications accurately Ensuring all work meets strict quality standards Working as part of a fast-paced production team

Hours of Work:

Standard hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Overtime available at enhanced rates (optional, depending on business needs)

Requirements:

Previous experience as a sewing machinist, ideally in

furniture upholstery

Confident working with

tough materials

(leather, vinyl, heavy fabrics) Confident working with

stretch materials

(elasticated, fitted covers, technical fabrics) Skilled in operating industrial sewing machines Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Benefits:
