Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our small, friendly team in our brand new facility in Kingskerswell. While previous experience in sewing or soft furnishing is not essential, we are looking for someone with an invested interest in working with textiles and an eagerness to learn the craft is key. Both full and part time positions are available.

About The Company:

The JAM Interiors Group Ltd is a leading interiors practice in the South West, with a large showroom in Topsham. The group incorporates sister companies Devon Stone and JAM Studio. The studio is a dedicated workspace producing beautiful soft furnishings and upholstery for high end residential JAM projects, as well as for other leading interior designers across the region

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and sew curtains, drapes, blinds, cushions, and other soft furnishings to specification Work with a wide range of fabrics, including delicate, heavyweight, and patterned materials Ensure precise finishing, including hems, seams, trims, and embellishments Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines and tools Maintain high quality control standards and check finished items for accuracy and workmanship Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment As a small team, everyone is involved with the planning and workload management

Qualifications

Prior experience in sewing is preferred but not mandatory Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Good communication skills and a positive attitude Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials safely
