Job Title: Sewing Technician for Office Chairs/Soft Seating and Screens

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Sewing Technician to join our production team and contribute to the manufacturing process of our office chairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing techniques, preferably in upholstery or furniture manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch fabric, leather, or other materials used in the production of office chairs. Interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, and production schedules to ensure accurate completion of sewing tasks. Measure and cut materials according to specifications, ensuring precision and minimising waste. Inspect finished products for quality assurance, identifying and rectifying any defects or inconsistencies in sewing. Collaborate with other members of the production team to maintain workflow efficiency and meet production targets. Maintain and clean sewing machines regularly to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sewing Technician, preferably in upholstery or furniture manufacturing. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and other relevant tools and equipment. Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, including stitching, seaming, and hemming. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules. Attention to detail and precision in measuring, cutting, and sewing materials. Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production demands. Commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Vocational training or certification in sewing or upholstery. Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly line setting. Familiarity with different types of fabrics, leather, and other upholstery materials. Knowledge of ergonomic principles and design concepts related to office chairs.
