Brief Description
As part of the Payroll Processing Team, you will be responsible for working within specified timeframes, adhering to SLA's and KPI's. You'll work closely with colleagues across the Shared Service Centre, the wider organisation, and external stakeholders to resolve queries, share knowledge, and ensure best practice is followed. This role will see you supporting the day-to-day processing of payroll for our 40,000+ employees, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time. Typical activities may include processing our tax code notices and court orders, producing Ill Health Severance quotations as well as well as administering gross and net overpayment recoveries.

Contract Type: 1x Permanent and 1x 12 Month FTC

About the role (External)
Main Responsibilities
Accurate input and validation of payroll data, ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
Administer Family Friendly statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SAP) in line with legislation.
Process payroll deductions such as court orders, student loans, tax code changes and childcare vouchers.
Perform regular checks, audits and reconciliations to ensure data integrity and accurate payments.
Generate payroll reports using Oracle and Excel.
Support the payroll processing team with day-to-day administrative and transactional tasks, such as BACS and Faster Payment processing.
Respond promptly within our agreed SLA's to payroll-related queries from employees, managers, local HR and other stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly.
Previous payroll administration experience.
Experience working within a large and complex organisation.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Well organised, able to prioritise, and work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines.
Intermediate Excel skills - data manipulation, filters, formulas, pivot tables, V-lookups and referencing data across workbooks.
What could set you apart
Experience using Oracle E-Business suite.
Experience working with large, high-volume payrolls in a fast-paced environment.
Payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent) or working towards one.
Good working knowledge of PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory payments.
Understanding of payroll compliance requirements, including HMRC and RTI reporting.
Salary
: 23,758 per annum
