An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Engineering Department as a full-time Sheet Metal Craftsperson, at Innovia Films, Wigton.

Innovia Films are a leading global manufacturer of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films, supplying highly differentiated speciality products into the packaging, labels, tobacco overwrap and securities markets.

What is this role?

We are looking for a Sheet Metal Craftsperson to join our Engineering team. Working Monday - Friday 07:30 - 15:30, the successful candidate will report into the Engineering Day Foreman (Mechanical) and will provide Sheet Metal maintenance support to the site by adhering to procedures whilst working safely and securely. This includes the maintenance, repair, modification, manufacture and installation of a wide range of process equipment

The responsibilities of the role will include:

Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Comply with appropriate rules, regulations, and processes for safe working. Ensuring that any Health and Safety issues are reported in a timely manner, following the relevant procedures not limited to but including incident reporting. Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime. Carry out planned maintenance tasks as applicable. Manufacture components and equipment when required. Supervision of apprentices, contractors and other sheet metal workers where required. Follow and have awareness of all internal department protocols and procedures. Ensure robust communication and good working relationships between all stakeholders within the Engineering Team, wider business and externally. Raise any issues with the relevant individuals & assist with any Root Cause Analysis to rectify the issue. Ensure that any spares used are replenished and any issues reported accordingly Highlight any broken or malfunctioning equipment to the relevant stakeholders Ensure that ID Hammer tickets are raised and signed off for all relevant work.

What skills will you need?

Ideally, as the successful candidate for this role, you will have demonstrated experience as a Sheet Metal Craftsperson and any relevant qualifications to support this.

Manufacturing experience is preferred, as well as a proven track record of problem solving, high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You should have the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities to meet tight deadlines.

The salary for this role will be 37,754.85.

Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus 8 statutory bank holidays) and 13 rest days incorporated into your work pattern per year
