Reporting to the Production Head of Department the Team Leader is a junior supervisory role with responsibility for all aspects of work within a Production area.
Key features of the role are:
Supervision and motivation of their team.
Spending as near to 100% of their time as possible working within their area.
Taking ownership and accountability for everything within their area of responsibility.
Supporting the Head of Department to complete the daily work plan.
Build effective working relationships with other related areas and relevant support functions.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
The health safety and welfare of anyone working in or entering their area.
The output of product on-time, to the correct quantity and required quality.
Making sure materials and information are available as required.
Making sure tools, equipment and other resources are available and correctly maintained, including TPM requirements.
Ensuring training is carried out in line with area skills requirements.
Managing holiday absence to ensure required skills and labour are available.
Organising cover for un-planned absence.
Supporting Head of Department with completion of all HR and ROS requirements.
Checking machines, lighting, heating and fans are switched off when not in use.
Ensuring scrap and rework are processed within requirements.
Make sure area is clean, tidy and well-maintained within 6S requirements.
Attending and conducting area specific meetings.
Problem solving and continuous improvement.
Standing in for head of Department if absent.
