Kirklees Catering Service is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Catering Manager to help deliver high-quality, customer-focused catering services to pupils, staff, and visitors at Shelley College. You'll support the Catering Manager in daily operations and take charge in their absence, ensuring excellence in food production, service, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present meals to high standards for up to 500 customers daily
Supervise kitchen staff and support their development
Maintain hygiene, health & safety, and food safety standards
Support the development of creative menus tailored to local needs
Respond to customer enquiries and complaints professionally
Promote the service and identify opportunities for growth
Use Cypad Kitchen Manager software for administrative tasks and due diligence.
Assist with recruitment and team performance
What We're Looking For
Experience in food preparation and staff supervision
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to attain)
Strong administrative and IT skills
Strong understanding of food safety and allergy legislation
Willingness to undertake safeguarding training. DBS screening and pre employment medical screening
