Shellfish Storage Facility Operator

Only applicants with ability of travelling to/from rural location (no bus service) should apply.

The primary objective is to support the Production Manager in running the day to day operations of the shellfish facility. This role is seasonal and will include weekend work.

Responsibilities and duties include

Unloading, grading and weighing all shellfish bought in, as directed by the Manager, logging individual suppliers details to ensure traceability and stock control. Storing shellfish as required, ensuring the quality of the supply is maintained. Packing shellfish for distribution as required. This will also entail ensuring the correct labels, boxes and packing materials are used as specified by each customer. Maintaining equipment and facilities to a high standard. This includes following the daily cleaning schedule. Maintaining regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures. This includes: wearing protective clothing before start of work i.e. clean wellington boots,bib and brace, hairnet, clean worktop before starting work and maintaining a high level of hygiene. Attending training courses as and when required. From time to time, performing tasks outside the facility. This may include property maintenance and running errands off site. Performing duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner. Adhering to all policies and procedures relating to operation of the facility, including proper use and care of the equipment and materials. Establishing effective "working relationships" with colleagues, contributing to the team environment.

Be physically capable of lifting 25kg Fork lift driving qualification desired Enjoy working in the outdoors and as part of a team. Ability to travel to rural location independently

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
