Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive SHEQ Manager to lead Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality initiatives across our energy-sector operations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing SHEQ strategies, conducting inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and fostering a strong safety and quality culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHEQ policies, procedures, and management systems in alignment with company objectives and energy sector regulations.
Plan, coordinate, and execute safety, environmental, and quality inspections and audits across all sites, assets, and operational processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including NERC, FERC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant frameworks.
Identify hazards, environmental impacts, and quality issues; develop and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare and present detailed audit/inspection reports, performance metrics, and SHEQ KPIs to senior management and stakeholders.
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and external auditors during inspections and compliance reviews.
Drive incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and lessons-learned initiatives.
Champion employee training programs to improve SHEQ awareness, competence, and engagement.
Monitor industry best practices and emerging regulations to ensure the company remains ahead of compliance requirements.
Promote a safety-first, environmentally responsible, and quality-focused workplace culture.
Qualifications
Proven experience in SHEQ leadership within the energy sector (generation, transmission, distribution, or renewables).
Strong understanding of industry-specific safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards.
Demonstrated success in conducting and managing inspections, audits, and compliance programs.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in SHEQ management systems, audit tools, and reporting software.
Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor (9001/14001/45001), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent preferred.
