At Eastern Concrete, we pride ourselves on delivering top quality concrete solutions from our plants across the East of England. We are seeking a SHEQ Manager with relevant industry experience to join our established team.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the SHEQ Manager will be responsible for providing expert health and safety advice and implementing appropriate policies across the business, including concrete production and on-site construction activities. Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and Company standards, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in operational health and safety and fostering a positive safety culture in a high risk concrete manufacturing and construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop, implement and maintain SHEQ policies and procedures for the Company's concrete production, on-site construction projects and offices. Compile and review risk assessments and method statements. Conduct regular safety inspections and site audits across concrete batching plants, delivery operations and construction sites. Lead on health and safety incident investigations, root cause analyses and follow up on corrective actions. Deliver SHEQ training and toolbox talks. Ensure full compliance with applicable legislation e.g., HSWA, Construction Regulations, industry standards and Company SHEQ policies. Liaise with clients, inspectors and regulatory bodies as required. Implement environmental controls, including dust suppression, noise management and waste reduction strategies.

What We're Looking For:



Relevant, practical knowledge of concrete production, quality control and construction safety requirements. NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety. Strong communication skills with the ability to train, influence and promote excellence in health and safety to staff at all levels. Comprehensive understanding of HSWA, Construction Regulations and environmental legislation. Ability to drive behavioural change across multi-site operations and enforce safe working practices in a hands-on environment. Competent in Microsoft Office based packages and SHEQ management systems/software. Ability to analyse data and compile management/incident reports. Full, clean driving licence.
