Job Description

The Lead Operator will provide technical knowledge and expertise to support the team and the area Team Leaders. Working across multiple disciplines, throughout the factory, providing flexibility and support to cover periods of absence, holidays or peaks in demand whilst remaining hands on across all areas of the Factory.

This is a hands on, multi-skilled role, supporting production and labour requirements for the business. It is expected that the Lead Operators will highlight any potential quality issues liaising with the relevant teams.

Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00 | Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00 (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities:



Hands on role working across departments as needed to support production and labor requirements for the business. Responsible for operating the Factory presses & assembly/tank section. Providing support to the area team leaders/supervisors, as required, in all areas of the Factory, including supporting the rotating shift (an additional shift premium would be paid on weeks when covering the rotating shift). Preparing and loading goods for despatch and assisting with forklift duties, where a license is held. Implementation of the daily jobs list and work load schedule to ensure delivery dates and targets are met; Responsible for completing the required paperwork on a daily basis, ensuring high level of accuracy; Working at high pace with excellent quality within the tasks that are undertaken. Assist with the delivery of new starter and team refresher training to increase quality and efficiency across the team. Conduct quality assurance checks including completing documentation for traceability and quality assurance. Highlighting any quality issues with the team. Maintaining equipment and assist with tool changes as and when required. Working within and promoting Health and Safety guidelines and procedures. Providing holiday/sickness cover for area team leaders/ Supervisors, including the rotating shift. Assist stores & assembly if required. Assist with stock taking. Identify any improvements within the factory and put forward suggestions to the Team Leaders/ Production supervisor. Participating in ad hoc project work, as assigned, to support the Production team. Responsible for the general housekeeping of the factory and yard. Willingness to participate in training, such as, first aid training, fire Marshall training, forklift training. Co-ordinate, start-ups, shut down and change overs ensuring that teams commence working at their scheduled shift times, whilst covering the Team Leader. Responsibility for opening and securing the premises, whilst covering the Team Leader. Any other duties as assigned by the management team, in order to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications/Skills



Excellent product knowledge Flexibility and willingness to work across all areas of the Factory & covering the rotating shift Forklift license would be advantageous but not essential Willingness to obtain First Aider and Fire Marshall certificates Good timekeeping and attendance record Hardworking and ability to work at a fast pace for a sustained period Excellent attention to detail "can-do" positive attitude Good communication skills Effective leader and communicator Self-sufficient, pro-active and flexible Organised Strong attention to detail
