Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Shift Maintenance Fitter to join our on-site engineering team at Duynie Wrexham. This is a hands-on role where you'll provide front line engineering support across the site, playing a critical part in maintaining plant reliability, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities



Provide front-line engineering support to plant and operations Respond to and prioritise breakdowns during shift to minimise downtime Carry out logical fault finding and repair on plant equipment including motors, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyors Complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Undertake bearing and shaft replacement, alignment, and lubrication activities Carry out welding and fabrication tasks where required Accurately record all maintenance activities using the site CMMS Complete PM and TPM schedules efficiently Ensure clear escalation of unresolved issues Deliver clear, effective handover between shifts Adhere strictly to health & safety policies, safe systems of work, permits, and LOTOTO procedures

Qualifications (Essential)



NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering, or equivalent City & Guilds qualification, or Apprenticeship served

Skills & Competencies



Strong mechanical engineering knowledge Experience working on light, medium, and heavy plant machinery Hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge Welding and fabrication skills Bearing, shaft, and drive system experience Basic understanding of electrical systems and components Ability to prioritise workload and manage breakdowns effectively Strong commitment to health & safety Clear communication and escalation skills Confident delivering shift handovers Proactive, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
