Key Purpose of Role
Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager ensuring the Fulfilment Centre meets all set service, safety and financial targets by managing, developing and leading all operational activities within the warehouse operation.
Key Accountabilities
To co-ordinate and manage the activity of Team leaders & Warehouse Operatives motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the colleague base (both FTE and Agency) to ensure productivity, safety and cost targets are met or exceeded
Carry out regular health & safety inspections and ensure the operation operates within all H&S guidelines.
Set Team Leader objectives and hold regular formal reviews.
Maintain hygiene and security in the work environment ensuring standards are met
Monitor stock control systems ensuring inventory accuracy and liaising with the Inventory Control Manager
Maintain Integration between all warehouse buildings
Proactively identify future development opportunities within the service operation and influence and lead those development and change opportunities
Candidates must have and be able to demonstrate the following skills and behaviours:
2 years minimum experience of managing a team of up to 50 warehouse colleagues in a 3PL Retail environment or in-house retail environment.
A thorough understanding of inventory control and stock movements
Resource & demand planning
Strong written & verbal communication skills, numerate and ability to influence
Promoting a culture of Safety and Continuous Improvement
PC Literate in Microsoft software ( outlook, excel, power point)
Significant experience of warehouse management systems.
