Job Summary

The Shift Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within an established carboard packaging business, ensuring that all team members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently. This position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, managing production processes, and ensuring a positive experience for customers. The role operates an alternating shift pattern of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00. Occasional weekend overtime may also be required which is paid at a premium rate.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff. Oversee production processes to maintain quality and consistency. Assist in training new team members in manufacturing practices and operational procedures. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the production area, adhering to health and safety standards. Provide leadership by motivating staff, fostering teamwork, and addressing any performance issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including inventory usage and production timings.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a management/supervisory role within the manufacturing industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. Experience in lean manufacturing techniques is advantageous. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with customers and staff alike. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. An up to date FLT licence is advantageous.
