Venator is currently recruiting for a Shift Manager to join the ICON Operations team, Greatham site.
The overall purpose of the Shift Manager role is to lead the ICON shift production teams on a 24-hour basis, determining and allocating resources as required to produce safe, quality tonnes in line with the production target.
Job responsibilities include:Provide first line leadership of the shift team to ensure all EHS and PSM Procedures and standards are fully complied with to ensure the safe operation of the ICON plant.
Delivery of all ICON production requirements for each 12 hour shift, ensuring all production volume, quality and cost efficiency targets are met for the shift duration.
Manage plant operations during each shift:
+ Coordinate all plant activities each shift, working in conjunction with the workflow, maintenance and engineering teams.
+ Define and execute solutions for process problems, working closely and in agreement with the Operations Manager, ICON maintenance team, and/or the on-call duty team.
+ Provide operational support to workflow processes, especially out of hours, to ensure all Safe Systems of Work are issued in a timely manner.
Manage the shift team of Production Technicians and Shift Asset Engineer:
+ Lead, performance manage, motivate and develop team members to operate an effective and cohesive shift team.
+ Deliver compliance with all standard work activities and ensure operational procedures are adhered to.
+ Ensure all EHS critical and legally required training is completed, including all refresher training requirements.
+ Evaluate shift team core skills and capability to develop, agree and deliver the shift team training plan in conjunction with other Shift Managers, approved by the Operations Manager.
+ Generate and maintain a continuous improvement culture within the shift team.
Provide leadership in the event of a site emergency acting as the Incident Manager or Incident Controller representing the site and business in communications with external agencies.
As required, help in the development and delivery of area improvement actions and plans associated with all aspects of manufacturing operations (EHS, production, cost effectiveness etc.)
Candidate requirements:
Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:2+ years' experience in Engineering/Operational line management roles in a chemical manufacturing environment.
An experienced first line leader who can communicate effectively at multiple organisational levels both internally and externally.
NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations and preferably a Higher National Certificate in a process or engineering discipline.
Analytical and methodical problem solver.
High concern for standards and compliance.
