To ensure all operational resources on a shift basis follow all procedures and execute the production plan in a safe and efficient manner.

Please see below an outline of the position:

  • Execute and achieve the production plan via effective planning, resource allocation, prioritization, and decision making, providing support to the resolution of process and equipment issues when required.
  • Manage the preparation for operations, maintenance, and engineering work.
  • Ensure that all activities within assigned plant areas are carried out in compliance with Syngenta regulations, the site Responsible Care Management System, and all relevant UK regulations. Assist site Emergency Response team where appropriate.
  • Ensure effective ownership of production assets by the operations team - compliance with operations-led maintenance and housekeeping & 5S schedules; all equipment performance issues are diagnosed and actioned effectively; all plant preparation, start-ups, and changeovers completed in a safe and timely manner in order to meet plan.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the competence of the Operator team to ensure effective performance and motivation.
  • Provide accurate and timely communications to computer systems and to other site departments to ensure effective and transparent execution of production and related operations.
Qualifications
  • Ideally, experienced in chemical plant / process operations but not essential
  • Leading / managing teams would be advantageous but not essential.
