We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our bustling food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, restaurant management, and customer service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, managing inventory, and maintaining exceptional service quality during assigned shifts. The Shift Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring operational excellence across all facets of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth service flow
Oversee food preparation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols
Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance team performance and service standards
Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction
Assist in scheduling staff shifts, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new team members
Oversee kitchen management, including food production, catering, banquets, and bar services when applicable
Support budgeting efforts and manage operational costs effectively
Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, hospitality, and professional growth
Skills
Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management with supervising experience
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety standards
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop staff
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis effectively
Experience in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining environments preferred
Knowledge of culinary practices including cooking, food handling, catering, and banquet operations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Leadership qualities including team management, training & development, interviewing skills, and shift management expertise
Background in hospitality or hotel experience is a plus; barista or coffee experience is advantageous
