Summary and Purpose of Role:



To organise and co-ordinate production activities to achieve safe manufacturing conditions to meet performance targets, to company standards and within budget. To work with the Operations Manager to review and challenge ways of working to affect a 'Continuous Improvement' approach to manufacturing practises. Eliminating reoccurring issues through Route Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventative actions. To lead, motivate and monitor Production Line Supervisors and Production Operator activities, to achieve maximum output and maintain site KPI's & product quality standards. Ensure development, succession plans, and performance reviews are conducted regularly with all reports on shift, in terms of behaviour, attitude, quality, safety, performance etc. Actioning as necessary following company policies.

Responsibilities include:



Promotion of a Health & Safety Culture, including but not limited to Accidents/ NM investigations, Accidents/ NM improvement recommendations, Daily Monitoring to ensure H & S Compliance, Weekly Recording of H & S Monitoring, Fire Evacuations & Roll Calls, Liaising with Emergency Services, Alarm Company Engineering, H & S, HR, H&S improvements implementations Attend Monthly H & S Meetings Promotion of Food Safety / Quality Culture including but not limited to Non-conformance investigation including RCA and Q-pulse records - Ensure the business meets all CCOP and audit standards Attend monthly HACCP Meetings, Completion and compliance of all food safety and Quality systems Accountable for All Line Start Up Activities, including but not limited to Pre- start up safety check routine, QA sheet preparation Daily Tasks for all line activities, including but not limited to Health and Safety routines, carrying out all CCP's in a timely manner, non-conformance monitoring, shift briefings and handovers. Line breakdown Activities, including but not limited to Engineering intervention, product returns to cold store, staff redistribution. Production Planning - Daily, weekly and monthly, Staff Planning based of Production Requirements -Ensuring Daily Attainment to Plan, Labour Planning to forecast. Ensure holiday & absence (H&A) levels are within agreed KPI levels with HR and adhered to and actioned. Support & be present at NPD trails in the factory Employee Relations/Communications including but not limited to Investigation/ discipline process - Shift Communication weekly/ monthly, Performance Management of staff, appraisals & 1:1s Promoting the DRIVEN Plan, Managing ER Meetings - Maternity, Flexible Working, RTWs. Production Performance / Cl, carry out Line Performance Review, Line Performance Improvements, Assist in Setting and achieving. Dealing with day-to-day factory issues and supporting when needed/required. Carrying out Daily and Weekly Glass and Plastic audits. Other duties as required, including supporting QA Department in busy periods. Responsible for supporting QA team during Hygiene & Housekeeping audits. Training refreshment, Indirect Training, Direct Labour Training delivery, Reviewing training needs and assessments/ verification Reviewing skill sets and job descriptions. Creation, updates and annual review of SOP's, SSOW, implementation, updating and maintenance Training, Functional KPl's as well as Achieving Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annual

Background and Profile:



Minimum 5 years of food or related production experience - ideally short shelf-life product experience. Previous experience working in an SME Must have managed a team and be able to demonstrate production process and people development success in a prior role Sound knowledge of packing technologies such as vacuum, flow-wrap and MAP packing Relevant academic achievements either through higher education or through vocational learning and development in areas such as Leadership / Management skills, Food Safety, HACCP, Health & Safety
