We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. We are a new restaurant who are seeking an experienced restaurant supervisor to help the day to day runnings of the business and collaborate with the owner and head chef to create the ultimate customer experience. There is opportunity of growth to run into a managerial position for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food preparation and service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in delivering exceptional customer experiences while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the restaurant or hospitality establishment during assigned shifts.
Collaborate with the head chef to enhance the business and overall processes of the business.
Manage team members, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and support.
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of operation.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering to ensure smooth operations.
Enforce health and safety policies, including proper handling of food and equipment.
Assist in training new staff members in service procedures, food safety, and company policies.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and service areas.
Requirements
Proven experience in supervising within a restaurant or hospitality environment, ideally with background in food production or culinary roles.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation and service.
Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing teams in fast-paced settings.
Familiarity with kitchen operations, including cooking techniques and food presentation.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
Previous experience in hospitality roles such as serving, barista work, or hotel operations is advantageous.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service management.
