We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team, ensure food safety standards, and maintain high-quality food production during shifts. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating food preparation, and upholding the organisation's standards of hospitality and operational excellence.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth operation of the restaurant or hospitality venue.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety policies at all times.
Manage team schedules, delegate tasks, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, aiming to resolve issues promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and service areas.
Support training initiatives for new staff members in food safety, service standards, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with other departments such as barista services or hotel operations where applicable.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
Knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Experience in supervising staff in a fast-paced environment such as restaurants or hotels.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing daily operations.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is advantageous but not essential. This position requires a proactive individual with a passion for culinary excellence and team management, committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
