Role Overview


The Shift Technician will have in depth knowledge to prepare, operate, and maintain equipment and machinery safely and facilitate training. They will perform planned routine tool changes, maintain and repair tooling to keep production lines optimised and in good working order. They will support and facilitate the start up, shutdown of machines as well as problem solving, ensuring correct materials are utilised and perform quality control evaluations to confirm finished goods meet quality standards. They will share their experience and knowledge to train and develop our people to the required business documents. They will embrace and champion the trademark behaviours.

You will work a shift pattern consisting of 2 days (0:00-19:00, followed by 2 nights (19:00-07:00) then 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure all equipment is available for planned tool changes and prioritise them from the daily plan. Prioritise tool changes from the allocated daily plan Inspect product quality during machine start-up and identify problems with corrective actions. Conduct training on relevant processes and procedures. Maintain high levels of housekeeping and lead daily operations meetings when required. Support and lead trials and step up to the Production Team Leader role during absence. Risk assess new tasks and support documentation including Level 2 audits. Ensure correct PPE usage and safe tool handling and storage. Monitor equipment efficiency and complete tool change documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools and techniques. Collaborate with technical teams to implement solutions and support operator training.

Skills and Experience



Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience as a trainer. Computer literate, including MS packages. Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, or engineering would be advantageous Technically minded with an understanding of business processes. Able to accurately complete paperwork. Organised and able to manage own workload. Effective communication skills. Problem-solving ability.
